PE Lessons
For some they may have been the highlight of the school week, but all we remember is a never-ending series of punishments involving inappropriate nudity and climbing up ropes until you wet yourself.
Tell us about your PE lessons and the psychotics who taught them.

Fat Wood
early thirties , over six foot tall and massively obese . Taught Latin but helped out with rugby , shouted a lot from the sidelines then magically appeared in the showers , particularly if there were any injuries to be examined , this was of course back in the day when you could belt children with a leather strap . He terrified me at the time , looking back though I wonder if he was more scary than I realised

I was there!
I wondered if Fat Andrew would appear here. A thoroughly nasty wee man. Practised rampant favouritism and one of the few teachers at Hutchesons' Grammar School (let's name and shame) who seemed to positively enjoy beating children. Lived with his mother in Edinburgh until he snuffed it in his forties.

Wee Alec Percy
When I have time I will contribute some more amusing anecdotes of life on the playing fields of Auldhouse and Beaton Road.

I was in the same year as his son Andrew ,
who had a head shaped exactly like a rugby ball , ironic given his dad's occupation .
