This is a question Phobias

What gives you the heebie-jeebies?

It's a bit strong to call this a phobia, but for me it's the thought of biting into a dry flannel. I've no idea why I'd ever want to or even get the opportunity to do so, seeing as I don't own one, but it makes my teeth hurt to think about it. *ewww*

Tell us what innocent things make you go pale, wobbly and send shivers down your spine.

Deep Sea Isopods
I know I'm not too likely to come across these on my way to work in the centre of Edinburgh, but that doesn't mean they haven't sussed out a plan to get me at some point.

Also his friend the Horseshoe Crab. The scene where David Attenborough is standing on a beach with a few thousand of the fuckers makes me want shrivel up and die.

and finally this little shit.

The fact that someone found this cunt behind their new TV, makes me want to burn whichever country is responsible to the ground. Never mind the fact it's poisonous. Utter disdain.

Oh god
that last picture made me feel sick. I hate things with too many legs.

Oh bloody hell!
*shudders*

The Isopod looks bloody Evil! The other two look hell-spawned, but the first one looks like it's just plain evil and malicious...

Cool design, though- all of them!

legs one hundred and eleven thousand one hundred and eleven
yeah maybe its the abundance of creepy little legs that boils my blood. Spiders are held in similalry low esteem, though I have an ambition involving a tarantula, some smooth leather soled shoes, and a kerbstone to scrape the shoe on after a squishing spree. yay.

Oh my
The funny deep sea armoured thingy looks mean, but if it's used to life at the very bottom of the deep oceans, bringing it anywhere near the surface would make it decidedly unwell.

Horseshoe crabs! Funny looking feckers, but there is something about those legs poking out from underneath the armour. If they had caterpillar tracks instead they'd be a whole lot less sinister.

Centipedes...

*shudder* there are posionous centipedes out there with front legs full of venom. Nasty. In prehistoric times they grew huge too.

i have no problem with horseshoe crabs
they've been around for millions of years and haven't changed a bit since before the time of the dinosaurs. obviously nature thinks their design is just right.

I'm sorry PMJ...
You can bring them up, with no bad effects.
Commonly believed wrong-ness.

Same applies to most deep-sea fish.

Er... *wishes he didn't sound such a cock*

Kaol
Oh bugger...
(, Fri 11 Apr 2008, 12:02, closed)
Yeah...
In theory they could come up from the depths (very slowly walking) and crawl on you in the night...
They might even go in your ears :|

land based fear.
Ok so the deep sea isofucks are happily out of the way in their watery depths, but if I found that centipede behind my TV, I would probably live in constant fear for the rest of my days.
