Phobias
What gives you the heebie-jeebies?
It's a bit strong to call this a phobia, but for me it's the thought of biting into a dry flannel. I've no idea why I'd ever want to or even get the opportunity to do so, seeing as I don't own one, but it makes my teeth hurt to think about it. *ewww*
Tell us what innocent things make you go pale, wobbly and send shivers down your spine.

Brushing my teeth.
No, I'm not scared of the brushing, that would result in a gobful of festering rot-pegs!
The irrational fear that I feel during brushing is that I'll knock my teeth against the tap when rinsing. I could avoid it by using a glass to rinse, but I'm waaay to lazy for that.
I did try touching it gently to try and 'face my fear' but it didn't work and now I wedge my foot against the bathroom door in case the missus comes in and knocks me at precisely the wrong moment.

cup them!
could you not cup your hand and bring the water forth to your mouth, thereby preventing any tap tooth knockage. you could also use a femidom, which you could fill up with water, close at the top then throw on your unsuspecting neighbour as she flicks her bean whilst watching coronation street

Barrier
Depending on the shape of your faucet, you can just put your hand over the metal part so your cheek touches your hand.
I have to close my eyes when I brush my teeth, or else seeing the goo and spit will make me dry-heave. (Just thinking about it is making me a bit ill, actually...)
