This is a question What's the hardest you've tried to get dumped?

Groovypoodle writes, "My mate once told his girlfriend that he didn't think it was working only for her to laugh and tell him he was hilarious. Saying she was 'too weird' and 'slightly violent' and that he didn't like her was equally hilarious. Ripping off her wing mirror, throwing it through the windscreen
and storming off in a huff merely generated an apology from her a week later..."

Just how hard have you had to work to get someone to take the hint and stay dumped?

Oh, that *is* excellent...
A few things:
In a sense I have (or have had) 5 sets of grandparents:
Folks broke up when I was six. F remarried twice, me forced to acknowledge each set of "step-grands" as grandma & grandpa, yet no love in the respective wills, even from my actual grands on that side (eldest son of eldest son- I reckon primogeniture is dead ;)
M remarried once. Her parents are still alive and a sweet part of our lives (even though Big Grand (he's 6' 11" (or 2.1m) high and a whopping 54kg, a latter-day Ichabod Crane) is a rabid right-wing Bush/Cheney supporter) although as the black sheep I expect I'll be left out at the end; though even if they gave me everything I'd rather they outlive me:)
Stepdad's parents are sweet as well; they've contributed handsomely to my little sister's education and have helped my M and SD out lots, and even shared the bequest with us (and me, the outsider) when great-grandpa (whom I never even met!) passed on.
Anyway, I dunno why I've gone on at such length- must be the beer.
(Apologies (for (multiply- (nested (parentheses)))))
