This is a question Political Correctness Gone Mad

Freddy Woo writes: "I once worked on an animation to help highlight the issues homeless people face in winter. The client was happy with the work, then a note came back that the ethnic mix of the characters were wrong. These were cartoon characters. They weren't meant to be ethnically anything, but we were forced to make one of them brown, at the cost of about 10k to the charity. This is how your donations are spent. Wisely as you can see."

How has PC affected you? (Please add your own tales - not five-year-old news stories cut-and-pasted from other websites)

I see your rant and raise you...
1. Patriotism is bunk (and it collapses into cosmopolitanism pretty quickly anyway once you start to give it an intellectual bulwark). The less of it, the better.

2. It's actually illegal to fly the St George's flag, or the Union flag, except on certain days, or unless you happen to be a vessel in HM Navy. Nothing to do with PC - that's a law that goes back to James I and VI.

3. The red arrows thing is an urban myth. A rumous started circulating that the RAs had been banned, but there was never any such proposal. The Olympics are 4 years away - noone's been invited yet. That doesn't amount to being banned.

4. Banning the word "blackboard", though, is fucking daft. I'll give you that. But it's also gaining urban myth proportions - does anyone have solid evidence of it actually happening (or happening as much as people think)?

Sorry to be so debunk-happy.

No I'm not.
