This is a question Political Correctness Gone Mad

Freddy Woo writes: "I once worked on an animation to help highlight the issues homeless people face in winter. The client was happy with the work, then a note came back that the ethnic mix of the characters were wrong. These were cartoon characters. They weren't meant to be ethnically anything, but we were forced to make one of them brown, at the cost of about 10k to the charity. This is how your donations are spent. Wisely as you can see."

How has PC affected you? (Please add your own tales - not five-year-old news stories cut-and-pasted from other websites)

She is black.

Oh FFS
Grow up.

If the woman was white your story would have ended at the words "she got off scott-free". But because she's black, in your mind this is the reason she got off scott-free.

I mean you may be right, it may indeed be because she's black. But you don't know that, do you?

There are many jammy people in the world who manage to get away with the most blatant piss-takery. Not all of them are black, disabled or gay. Some of them *shock horror!* look just like you! Amazing, isn't it?

Yes. Listen - did you sit in the meeting where they had that conversation: "Oh, no, let's let her off scot-free - she's black, mwa-ha-ha-ha!" No. So when you speculate that she was let off just because she was black, what are you doing? Are you drawing a negative inference based on race? Could that be construed as racist?
