He failed because he skim-read?If you really did fail someone for knowing how the scale works and how to apply it, but not knowing the name, then you should not be trying to educate anyone.

Don't Worry - I Wasn't So CruelBut the fellow was slow, which ultimately led to his educational demise. Part of education is learning how to prepare when power-mad despots come flying into one's life, as they always do in universities. Like being able to distinguish between Japanese family names and tortillas fried with peppers, steak, and onions.
Sorry about the Mockery - one of the privileges of "Absolute Power." There is a place in this world for the slow but whimsical, however, and I honor this fellow's delightful 'Fajita Scale' here.
