Nice one. Love it. Well done you.I'm sure you'll appreciate my story then. It's not worthy of its own post, so I hope you don't mind me appending it to yours.
My parents taught me to read long before I started school, as many do. When I first started primary school, there were several kids there who couldn't read for shit. Scratch that - it was a rough area, most of them couldn't read their own names. When my teachers spotted that I could read better than they could, they sneakily assigned me to helping the other kids learn.
Long story short: I was an English teacher before my fifth birthday. At least one kid owes his literacy to me. Best thing I've ever done.
So go you. I know how it feels. :)
