well
funnily enough, I cross at the same Ped x every morning. I can see it from quite a way off, and if someone has pressed it within about a minute of my arrival, it goes red after about a further minute. If no one has pressed it for a while, when I do, it goes red quite quickly.
However, the other day, someone pressed it, crossed, and it went green, and I arrived a few seconds later. I know this means it will wait a minute at least before going red again if I pressed it. BUT. Someone on the otherside of the road, pressed the button at exactly the same instant as me? Result - lights immediately changed in my favour. Just so you know...
