This is a question Procrastination

Outlook is a wonderful tool, but not when it keeps reminding you that it is now 96 weeks since you were supposed to finish a report you haven't even started yet.

Just how lazy are you? How long will you put off the essential or the inevitable? What do you fill the time with?

(We're too lazy to write something funny here. You do it.)

This evening...
My band has been booked in to play a short gig this evening at the last minute. The venue is, conveniently, quite close to my office.

Unfortunately, my bass is not. I have to go home at some point and pick it up. There is a strong argument to be said for going home now to pick it up so that I can avoid being on the toob at peak time.

Why do I know I'm going to end up procrastinating over this one? (See, it was on topic...)

Edit: In the end I went home and picked up my bass like the mug I am. This gig had better be worth it...

Edit Edit: The gig was not worth it. One technical disaster after another. But fortunately no audience to speak of, and not a serious gig anyway, so no harm done I guess.

Are there any other bands playing?
Ultimate lazy option, borrow a bass off one of the other bassists.

I'm really tempted to do that.
Trouble is, I haven't been given details for any of the other bands.

Also it would be quite nice to have my overdrive to hand.

Hmmm....

Playing through an amp?
You can make a good enough driven sound on that, surely!

Especially when you weigh it against the disadvantages of a rush hour tube :P

Just ring the promoter and ask for details, say the neck snapped off your bass and it's an emergency.

Well, I can cope without the bass overdrive.
After all, it's only the Union building. /shame...

However, you've given me an idea: I do know a couple of friends who may still own basses and certainly live closer than I do. I'm just off to give 'em a ring...

Whilst at work you could easily fashion
A rudimentary bass using a ruler, a box file and some elastic bands a la Seasick Steve.

And it would give you another procrastination story!
