It is
a teacher's job to teach, and your job to parent.
Rather than banging on about giving her verbal slapdowns as to how she was going to rectify the situation and change things for the better, a more productive response might be to ask her how you could work together to do the same. How if there were things you could do at home which might help, and conversely things she could do in the classroom.
It sounds as though you've just dismissed this as a 'teacher's problem' rather than investigating how you might get your kid off to school motivated and willing to learn, rather than disruptive and unmotivated.
Suppose I'd better head off to see my counsellor about my closemindedness and aggression issues now.
