Professions I Hate
Broken Arrow says: Bankers, recruitment consultants, politicians. What professions do you hate and why?

Totally agree
In fact I can't stand the smugness anymore of Radio 1. Notice how everything is 'brilliant! mega! awesome!'. No-one ever says, when asked by the terminally stupid Fearne Cotton, how the 'Clay Wombats' gig was last night - 'it was OK'. A shame as I like my pop music and apart from the RnB shite, I like Radio 1 for that alone (and not the DJ's). But as of this week I have been waking up to the Today program.
I'm getting old.

I'm getting REALLY old
I've been waking up to Today for the best part of 20 years, and used to really enjoy hearing John Humprys beasting some ministerial trouserstain.
But just lately, I'm getting very bored. Not least because Evan Davies seems to manage to get answers and expose hypocrisy just as easily without being such a bully. Intellectually, I know that this is just because all the politicos have have the media training that lets them deal with Humphrys, Paxman, etc., but emotionally it feels like something small but important inside me has died.
Though I dare say that when the Libservatives finally implode and the Tories go back to full smug mode, the need for interviewers who'll duff them up will return.
