And why?WHY for the love of everything sacred do they insist on handing you a receipt for the tiniest of transactions? I've started telling shop-keepers I don't want them and they always look surprised and hurt. It's just a lighter for fuck's sake! Do I look autistic?!

a legal requirementI believe, to stop tax fraud among other things. And if they've gone to the trouble of complying with the law, it seems wasteful when you say you don't want it.
