This is a question Devastating Put-Downs

Amorous Badger says: I once saw a former manager of mine being asked to 'sit down and let your mouth have a chance to speak' by his senior. What's the best heckle/putdown/riposte you've ever seen? (Hint: Recycled 'Your mum' jokes does not make an answer)

Acid tongued
Relayed from a friend, working in a hotel at the time. Couple out for dinner in the restaurant, gentleman diner unhappy with particularly poor and surly service from waitress.

Waitress (having taken order): "Anything else?"
Diner: "Yes. A lemon for you to suck on"

That's not devastating
it's just rude.

Besides, it doesn't even make any sense - if she's sour-faced, the last thing she needs is a lemon.

I think the implication is that, even a sucking-a-lemon face would be less pinched & bitter

I bet that worked really well
And there was absolutely no snot, saliva, urine, etc. in any of the food she subsequently served him.

Honestly, politeness to those about to serve you food is basic common sense. Wait until you've eaten it (or tried to, if it's bad) before complaining. And even then, only complain about the food, not the people serving & preparing it (until you're absolutely sure you intend to partake no more).
