I'm not sure what the point of this story is.I think Ringo might be showing off about having a pool. Over in the UK it's pretty uncommon to have one's own swimming pool, so they aren't really objects of envy.
I think he might be displaying the early stages of a breakdown.

It's all gone a bit creepy.Why does he think we care that it's unpleasantly hot in Australia? Surely everybody already knows that. It's one of the main reasons that nobody chooses to live there.
