It seems pretty much thrust upon us here in QLD
I grew up not giving a damn about who I was associating with & pretty much still am that way, as long as I find them a decent sort of human being. That said, every government form I have ever filled out asks if I am of "Aboriginal or Islander descent". I would really like to know why it matters, as it is my understanding that we are all equal. Apparently some of us are more equal than others.

Hmm, never thought about that really.
Mind you guy I went to uni with got Abstudy while I got Austudy - he got more money but I was also working at the time. Lucky bastard also managed to get on very well with the ladies, but not before I'd had a fair old crack tho...
