Racist grandparents
It Came From Planet Aylia says: "My husband's mad Auntie Joan accused the man seven doors down of stealing her milk as he was the first black neighbour she had. She doesn't even get her milk delivered." Tell us about casual racism from oldies.

When I moved towns at about 6 years old
The first lad I sat next to in school who, as is the law, became my best friend was what was known then as half-caste, I never even noticed for years until he got racist abuse in town and had to ask my dad what those words meant. My grandad though always called him chalky which for years I assumed it was like 'little scamp' or some word old people called kids. I never found out it was racist til after my grandad died but I still dont think he was racist as that was the only racist thing he ever said.
