I used to get told off by TfL staff, for giving my travelcard to beggars,because they "sell them on and use the money to buy drugs".

Seems like a pretty good business modelotherwise the friendly neighbourhood drug dealer wouldn't've profited, and the beggars wouldn't've got their scag.
