Have seen enough divorces..to know that the cruelty before the wedding is preferable to the long drawn out brain rape of legal process. I saved myself some hassle and married a matrimonial lawyer. I know I'm fucked if we ever have that sort of terminal problem so makes we work just that little bit harder at being a decent husband!
Just to be controversial I don't think you needed to add the reason why religious types might be considered deluded, it pretty much sells itself!
