Rubbish Towns
I once went to Basildon. It was closed, I got chased by a bunch of knuckle-dragged yobs until I was lost in a maze of concrete alleyways and got food poisoning off pie. Tell us about the awful places you've visited or have your home.

Torquay = Over-run by druggies
The public toilets on Torquay sea-front have needle bins - says it all.
Also: Bill Bryson started his career at the Bournemouth Daily Echo - also says it all.

If it was before 1985, he was probably driven into running off and writing all them travel books by the small-minded NIMBY squads of Bournemouth.
But these days - why, the town centre hardly smells of wet dog anymore. Now thats worth celebrating.
