This is a question Rubbish Towns

I once went to Basildon. It was closed, I got chased by a bunch of knuckle-dragged yobs until I was lost in a maze of concrete alleyways and got food poisoning off pie. Tell us about the awful places you've visited or have your home.

Thanks to SpankyHanky for the suggestion

Actually it's quite nice but took me nearly 90 minutes to get out of the bastard place due to the stupid signs on the ring road.
The signs were basically "Ooop North" & "That Lundun" which was shite as I was going to Norfolk.
I'd stopped at three petrol stations & they sent me in the Ooop North direction. Being a Northerner they probably thought that's what I wanted as they couldn't understand me.
Bastards.

My dad and I
Tried to get around that problem once by taking the park and ride. The trouble is that it only has two stops, at opposite ends of the city. We walked for miles, being passed by dozens of damn park and ride buses to get to the nearest stop. When we got on my dad asked the driver why there weren't more stops, and why the relevant ones weren't marked to say that the bus stopped there. The driver's response was that he should have asked the driver. My dad asked how this was possible when one was not on a damn bus, and was told that he should have asked before he got off. He then took advantage of my dad's momentary speechlessness to drive on, forcing us to sit down.

Back at the 'park' part of the park and ride, my dad, muttering, went into the office to complain. He came out twenty seconds later with a look of disbelief on his face. They told him he should have asked the driver.

To this day, the quickest way to annoy him is with the phrase "ask the driver".
