Rubbish Towns
I once went to Basildon. It was closed, I got chased by a bunch of knuckle-dragged yobs until I was lost in a maze of concrete alleyways and got food poisoning off pie. Tell us about the awful places you've visited or have your home.

You're right about it going downhill in places like Acomb
But it's all pretty relative, there's very few places I'd avoid after dark. Also it is the capital of Yorkshire...
You are right about it being a place for tourists, thankfully the prices aren't quite London-like and Leeds is only a short train journey away for a more lively night out.

Acomb's not all bad
I live in Holgate, I've lived in Aberdeen and Pontypridd as well and I can hand on heart say that the so-called 'rough' parts of York, Tang Hall, Acomb and most notably, Kingsway, are fuck all. Even Bell Farm is faintly posh.
York- it has no real rough areas. Fucking dull though.
