It's not even Rhythm 'n' Bluesanymore, which is what the term actually stands for. BB King and yes Nat King Cole etc ARE R'n'B but all this modern stuff is sewage. The only people that like this shit are the ones trying to fit in with their "group", if people listen to it purely to impress each other with how "down" they are then often more people will listen just to be socially acceptable.
I couldn't give a toss what people think of my taste in music, neither could any of my close mates. The fact that I'm 21 and I don't really listen to anything post-80's is seen as "sad" by some people but I genuinely think it's better than 90's onward (with a few exceptions such as the Madchester scene).
