Nah, in this case I mean less.You're right, grammatically, fewer is correct.I mean less.Perhaps that should have read "lesser"?
Oddly I was explaining the mistake evident in the 12 items or less sign to a checkout gal just a few days ago. If I'd been trying for some playful sexual banter, it wouldn't have got me very far.
