Shit Holidays
Camping on a dried-up river bed, we discovered when it rained during the night and half of our equipment and clothes were already most of the way to the Irish Sea why you shouldn't camp on a dried-up riverbed. Tell us about crappy holidays.

Paris syndrome
It's essentially Japanese sensibilities and romantic expectation clashing with the awful reality of Paris and how horrible French people are.

Took the family to Paris
I was aware of Paris syndrome so prepared myself and actually enjoyed it for what it was (never made it to the tower, slight miscalculation in the walking plans. Got within sight of it though).
My daughter, on the other hand, now hates the French and wants to drop a bomb on the place.
So not a total loss.
