I used to work in a supermarket where the girl on the deli counter cut off the top of her finger in the meat slicer, but was made to finish her shift before going to hospital. I was in a bakery in Glasgow once*
I pointed to one of the items in the glass fronted display case and said "Is that a cake or a meringue?"**
