Mixed message here....
Should we never do it, or go and try it?

When I were a student, we once managed to create
an interesting effect when frying chillies to go in a chilli con carne in olive oil.
I believe the resulting fumes are pretty much the same chemical makeup as tear gas.
It was about an hour before we could go back in the kitchen.

Well
Paprika does much the same.
Without wasting chillies.

You should try it
First you need to bring 125ml of olive oil up to heat.
Then dump about 0.5lbs of paprika in it.
While that is removing the protesters from the Ukraine that were congregating in you kitchen like the UKIP is saying etc...

when frying garlic, ginger, coriander and turmeric powders for a curry
