In his defenceThere was a Megadrive controller with built in games available a few years back that you plugged straight into the telly
A bit of googling turned this up: www.firebox.com/product/864/Sega-Mega-Drive-6-in-1-Plug-n-Play but I'm sure there was a version that looked exactly like the standard Megadrive controller as well
