Godwin's Lawyer tells us: "I once worked with a lad who believed 'Frankenstein' was based on a true story, and that the book was written by Shirley Bassey." Tell us about your workplace dopes.

I feel this doesn't make her particularly stupid.
Most people seem to think that genetics IS the mixing of genes, and therefore mix a blond gene with a brown gene and hey presto a ginger gene. Maybe what you needed to explain to her was that sexual reproduction is the shuffling of genes, and at no point do any genes join with of mix with any nother genes.

Good idea.
You could tell them about this guy called Mendel while you're at it...
But I suspect that they've heard of him!

My Apologies
I don't have a degree in any advanced scientific subject, therefore I am clearly a dull twat. Perhaps you could tell me the *proper* way to explain how a grey-haired person and a grey-haired person will not produce a grey-haired child? That's what I was trying to get at here.
EDIT: Bollocks, sorry, I don't think that makes any sense either after reading it... I'm going to go and eat a yoghurt and leave the science to the professionals.
