There are only 3 physical dimensions, and any beyond that are in the realm of quantum physics, so not really common knowledge to the man in the street. 4D cinema experiences do tend to supplement the 3D screen image with tactile feedback so, in that sense, the fourth dimension would be feel (unless they've developed a time travelling cinema whilst I wasn't paying attention).
Was she really wilfully ignorant, or just not particularly knowledgeable in the field of mathematics?

is not common knowledge? That explains why I can't operate my digital watch, then.

to get me that time travelling cinema, will you?

or you think the mathematics of Minkowski is common knowledge. Even in relativity, time isn't treated as a dimension in the same sense that the three 'common' dimensions are.
But you can feel my fourth dimension anytime. If you know what I'm saying. Eh? Eh?
