Let's be fair here.
Religion is an abstract concept. It is incapable of being ignorant. People are ignorant. Whether you are religious or not is no correlation of ignorance.

religion of itself is not a display of ignorance.
The way people follow religions often is though - People believing that the world was made in 7 days by a beardy sky wizard, that's quite ignorant. But that's not the same thing..
