my neighbour is a brunette, but honorary blonde...A mutual friend recently bought himself an iPhone and was demonstrating the inbuilt compass. He found north easily enough when my neighbour asked how it could point to north when we live in the north? Surely the compass needle would just spin or the graphics change to an X?
It took a while to explain the concept of magnetic north vs. north of England, but the use of Polar Bears and Penguins helped.
