Amazing displays of ignorance
Sandettie Light Vessel Automatic tells us: "My dad's friend told us there's no such thing as gravity - it's just the weight of air holding us down". Tell us of times you've been floored by abject stupidity. "Whenever I read the Daily Express" is not a valid answer.

I just /knew/ what these replies were
there's a story that the original duck/duct tape was called duck tape because water ran off it like a duck's back.
Duct/duck tape predates Duck Products. From an etymological point of view, duck is probably the original name, but only just. There's not enough evidence either way.
To add to the confusion, duck tape and duct tape are used differently in different parts of the world.
Yet another thing that I'm not going to lose any sleep over.
