You're not the only apparentlyWhen I was younger my Dad bought an ancient 2nd hand van.
It obviously had had electrical issues, as every single fuse had been replaced with a kit-kat wrapper to prevent it from shorting out all the time.

There's also the story about the bloke who replaced a fuse with a bulletand shot himself in the 'nads when it warmed up.
