DIY Techno-hacks
Old hard drive platters make wonderfully good drinks coasters - they look dead smart and expensive and you've stopped people reading your old data into the bargain.
Have you taped all your remotes together, peep-show-style? Have you wired your doorbell to the toilet? What enterprising DIY have you done with technology?
Extra points for using sellotape rather than solder.

Well, that's how society works. We have different skills and we swap 'em.
If I'm good at making fishhooks but not knives, and you're good at making knives but not fishhooks, we'll make knives and fishhooks for each other and we'll both be better off.

I'm good at making dynamite, so I don't need any fishhooks but if you've got a contact number for the knife guy, I'd really appreciate it.
