DIY Techno-hacks
Old hard drive platters make wonderfully good drinks coasters - they look dead smart and expensive and you've stopped people reading your old data into the bargain.
Have you taped all your remotes together, peep-show-style? Have you wired your doorbell to the toilet? What enterprising DIY have you done with technology?
Extra points for using sellotape rather than solder.

Absolutely brilliant!
It's a big step away from my old bosses effort to cash in on a cheap 'projector' TV for the pub by purchasing one of them plastic lens contraptions from EBay (they look similar to those lenses you see on the back of minibuses to help the drivers see behind their vehicle) however, despite following the instructions to the letter (this involved some construction work consisting of utilising old cardboard boxes and an old telly) his 'solution' was an epic failure, and resulted in only a blurred image on the wall, and in doing so, made some conman £30 in the process...
By the way, these guys still sell these 'cheap projectors' on EBay, so, unless you're a coach drive with a blind spot, I'd steer clear if I were you. (no pun intended..)
