i was doing some office tempingand had to take a bearer cheque-thing from where i was working to one of it's clients, the other side of the city. I was on £6 an hour, and this thing was worth a few grand - to the bearer. I could have walked into a bank and put it into my own account - perfectly legally.
It was a long and very tempting walk.
