This is true, however...
Supermarkets usually only have class I fruit and veg on sale loose. Class II stuff gets sold in big bags marked 'economy' or 'basics' - and are often more expensive per pound than the loose stuff! (You can tell easily, since they all have the cost/weight written on the shelf edge label.
Some people will just assume things are cheaper if they're in a larger quantity or have 'economy' stamped on them.
