troubled me enormously as a boyIn the Japanese series the boy-monk Tripitaka was played by a woman, but I had the book on which the series was based (by Cheng'en Wu I believe - one of my favourite childhood tomes) so I knew the character was a lad.
But I fancied her/him, in my 8-year old way.
Thought I was 'on the turn' for a while there. Most perturbing...
