My ex-girlfriend was a few years older than me and had a teenage daughter
One day, during a visit to my girlfriend's gran's (Marie's) house, the conversation turned to the past and Marie was telling us of her first husband and how he died, then how she re-married.

"I knew great-grandad" piped in my girlfriend's daughter "He used to sit on the end of my bed and tell me stories didn't he?"

Marie told her that no, she hadn't met him, and in fact he'd died before she was born, to which the daughter replied "No, I did know him", and proceeded to describe him perfectly.

Marie went white - the only time I've ever actually seen someone do that - and agreed that yes, that was indeed him. But since he had in fact died several years before the daughter was born and she had no photos of him, how the daughter knew his was a mystery.

She was probably fucking senile and forgot when he died.
