Starting something you couldn't finish
Finnbar says: I used to know a guy who tattooed LOVE across his left knuckles, but didn't tattoo HATE on the other knuckles because he was right-handed and realised he couldn't finish. Ever run out of skills or inspiration halfway through a job?

I'm no expert on Ladies Grooming...
...but isn't there stuff like Veet that does hair removal painlessly?
It always confuses me that such things exist yet people subject themselves to waxing, which sounds like a horrible experience.

I got the hang of self-waxing a few years later.
Veet just melts off the hair at the skin so regrowth is really quick. Waxing/sugaring tears it out so it takes an age to grow back.

If it's any consolation
The middle and upper class ancient Romans used to employ hair-pluckers who would take them out individually with tweezers.
Men employed them to pluck their beards. Apparently one could generally hear the screams from the hair pluckers' quarters quite a distance away.
