Don't do it this weekend.Attics get very hot in the summer, so if it had flies before, it'll likely as not have a swarm of them now. Plus working up there will be really uncomfortable.
And, anyway: wouldn't it be nicer to be outside?
Leave it until a rainy Sunday in October.
