This is a question Starting something you couldn't finish

Finnbar says: I used to know a guy who tattooed LOVE across his left knuckles, but didn't tattoo HATE on the other knuckles because he was right-handed and realised he couldn't finish. Ever run out of skills or inspiration halfway through a job?

Every Sodding Games Workshop Army.
Ever.

(Well, okay, I've only ever really collected Skaven and Chaos Space Marines, but still. Almost fifteen years of painting and playing and I don't think I have a single playable army.)

Oh my jebus, I hate you so much for turning over this particular stone. I'd successfully forgotten about my identical story.

:D
/Still has whole boxes of completely unassembled metal and plastic 40K kits going back all the way to RTB1 in the attic.

You nerd.
Chaos Marines indeed. Scoff!

My unfinished Ultra Marines were much better.

In fact I think the only fully painted army I've ever used was on Dawn Of War...

Ultra Marines? Hell no!
Every ten-year-old and his dad has Ultra Marines! They're like the Magnolia wallpaper of the 40K world.

Every single one of my Chaos Marines is converted to have a mutation, and... hmm.... actually, it suddenly makes sense as to why they're not finished yet...

Pah! Not painting an army isn't all THAT lazy.
Not painting a mere Blood Bowl team, on the other hand... that you've had for seventeen years...

I have undercoated a lineman. In fact, I believe I did that in 1994. I'm just taking a quick breather before I get on with the rest.

I'm still intending...
...to finish painting my Space Crusade figures. Sure, the game's probably been out of production for over a decade*, and there's no-one I know would be interested in playing the original game; but they can already make a passable custom chess set, and with proper (finished and themed) painting could look all of teh awesomes.

For the Black side, I'm thinking a Chaos Dreadnought Mark X as Queen, CSM Captain as King, Genestealers / Androids / Dreadnought Mark VIIs in the back row, and Gretchin as pawns.

For White, probably a Tarantula Mobile Support Weapon as Queen, with a Space Marine Captain as King, HW space marines filling the back row, and Eldar** as Pawns.

* Wikipedia says "Years active: 1990" which makes it twenty years I've been procrastinating. I feel advanced shame.
** Yes, I know Eldar aren't really the same alignment at Space Marines, but in the in-game universe they're the closest we have to allies; plus they're visually distinct (edit: and I have enough of them for a uniform front row)

I've got a guard and a dwarf army
About 5% of the dwarves are painted :(.
Managed to do a bit more with the guard, but onyl cos i'm forcing myself to do it. So many men! + tanks. Lots and lots of tanks.

I have...
4200 points of Tau, 2000 points of Daemonhunters and about 2500 of 40K orks.

I'm not really sure why.

Just as I get finished I end up buying more. Damn them all!
