Laid out on the changing table, Rory wriggled and stretched out one of his hands to cup the soupy brown mess his own body had produced.
He smeared it across one cheek and beamed with delight as it formed rivulets down his chin. His mother forced a smile through a clenched jaw.

When the nice man in the blue uniform indicated it was time to leave, she looked back again at her 17 year-old son lying helplessly on the padded bench, then followed him out of the room. Later on in her cell, she had one of her "moments" and had to be sedated.
