My home town....of Brixham, in Devon, has a pirate day every year.
God knows why. Because they arr?
But still, people who actually HAVE west country accents, still put on pirate accents....and you can tell the difference.
Personally, I find it weird that a Bristol city accent sounds far more rural than an actual rural Devon or Cornwall accent, at least to my ears.
