Weird TraditionsTalking with a friend yesterday about school dinners, she suddenly said, "We had to march into the dining room behind the School Band... except on Thursdays." Since all of us were now staring, she qualified this with, "...on Thursdays there was no wind section. It was a tradition."
What weird stuff have you been made to do "because it's a tradition."

ah, rural lifeA particular tradition in the area where I grew up saw me dressed as a giant omelette at the age of five. It was made of foam rubber and I remember little bits of green capsicum sticking out of the sides.
That is all. I dare not reveal more, lest The Village Elders find out I've been flapping my trap to The Outsiders.
