Weird TraditionsTalking with a friend yesterday about school dinners, she suddenly said, "We had to march into the dining room behind the School Band... except on Thursdays." Since all of us were now staring, she qualified this with, "...on Thursdays there was no wind section. It was a tradition."

YuletideAny mention of the c-word (the day that ickle baby Jesus was born in a mangle, not the other c-word) in my parents house before 1 December attracts a 20p fine. Last year they bought a tree and a case of wine with the proceeds of the previous two years.
Actually, I rather like the idea, so maybe not so weird.
