they'll still have Theresa May onside, who would pretty much stick up for them even if they were caught burning protesters inside wicker men. "The wicker man is a key tactic in the police's efforts to ensure the safety of the public" I bet she'd say.

Although it has been a pretty rough time for the Met lately, what with everyone talking about kettling and tactics, and the Met police authority asking tricky questions, plus all the phone hacking shit that they were obviously balls deep in. Plus - juries at the moment aren't as likely to be biased against protesters, cos of the arab spring and such.
