Huh...It actually sounds like he was being rather polite. Why did you assume he was a freako rapist instead of thinking, possibly, that not everyone has such a paranoid aversion to speaking to strangers?
Try practicing this: "I'm flattered, thank you, but I'm just not interested, sorry." Instead of screaming like a mentalist.
