I used to work for HMRC
I used to post a LOT of CDs of data.
It was commonplace, and approved by management.
It's criminal how a lowly AO was blamed for the child benefit disc fiasco, when he was only doing his job.

I agree
loftier heads should have rolled ... although if a private sector employee had done the same thing the data protection office would have fined the company massively. At the very least.
